Fire Academy
ABOUT THE WILDLAND FIRE ACADEMY
The Wildland Fire Academy, a collaboration between the Colusa County Office of Education, the Colusa County Fire Association Chiefs, CAL FIRE, and the Meridian Fire Department, offers specialized training for those pursuing seasonal firefighter positions with CAL FIRE.
This academy provides essential skills and certifications required for wildland firefighting roles in California. Graduates are also eligible to apply for similar positions with other fire agencies in the state.
The academy consists of 180 hours of training, conducted over 9 to 12 weekends, with additional self-study and homework assignments.
